Advocacy

The purpose of advocacy is to ensure that students’ perspectives are taken into account in the operations and decision-making of the higher education institution. At the same time, it promotes students’ well-being, smooth everyday life, and the quality of teaching.

Advocacy is carried out through active interaction with students, higher education staff, and other student actors. The association acts as a link between students and the institution, forwarding feedback, experiences, and development ideas to parties such as teachers, study counselors, and those responsible for education.

In practice, advocacy includes collecting student feedback and passing it on, participating in various working groups and meetings, and raising issues that concern students in discussions. Through advocacy, it is possible to influence areas such as how teaching is delivered, course structures, study facilities, and services that support student well-being.

Openness and accessibility are at the core of this work: the goal is to make it easy for every student to share their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions for improvement. At the same time, advocacy aims to increase awareness of different channels of influence and to strengthen student participation.

The overall goal of advocacy is to ensure that students’ voices are heard and that their experiences lead to concrete improvements within the higher education community.
